Oversight Plan

The Oversight Plan is the process through which the tribe’s or organization’s financial staff and administrative management ensure that projects comply with federal award requirements as well as internal tribal or organizational policies and procedures. The oversight plan details your ability to implement the project with an efficient structure to oversee federal funds. This plan will outline the key personnel responsible for supervising project staff and, if applicable, partners, consultants, or subrecipients. It will also cover procedures for record-keeping, financial management, and reporting.

  • Hello, and welcome to the 2025 ANA Pre-Application Training, Oversight Plan.
  • The oversight plan can be found under organizational capacity in the NOFO. And element 18 asks for you to describe a plan for proper oversight of federal award funds, including the identification of staff and internal controls for financial management and accurate accounting practices.
  • To fully address this element, you'll want to first start off by describing the financial internal controls and your policies and procedures for your organization. Please ensure that when you're discussing these they align with 2 CFR Part 200. You'll also identify financial staff and contractors and their experience. Include and attach resumes, job descriptions, and statement of qualifications for these individuals. Also, list experience successfully managing federal grants per your organization. Lastly, you'll want to include and cite recent clean audits, if applicable.
  • For this last activity, we'd like you to go through and briefly describe the financial oversight of federal awards for your tribe or organization. Reference staff, the accounting tools, contractors, the policies and procedures, the internal controls that you use within your organization. Also, ensure that funds are spent timely and accurately. What's your process for ensuring that? You'll include all of that information in this activity.
