Video 13: Partnerships and Consultants

Partnerships and Consultants

This section will provide you with an overview of detailing any Partnerships and Consultants.

When detailing partners and consultants, you will explain their role and significance in implementing the project, along with details of their qualifications and expertise relevant to the position. Guidance on the supporting documentation to include in your application is also provided.

  • Hello and welcome to the 2025 ANA Pre-Application Training, Partnerships and Consultants.
  • Partnerships and consultants can be found in the organizational capacity of the NOFO, and Element 17 asks for you to identify partners and/or consultants and explain their role in supporting project activities. This can be done very simply by inserting a table into your application, identifying who the consultant or partner is, identifying their qualifications, listing their role or responsibility within the project, and then also providing supporting documents in your application, such as an MOU or a statement of work. Please keep in mind that you will want to fill out a table or narrative outlining their role or responsibility and not just attaching a statement of work or a contract.
  • When you discuss your partnerships and consultants, be thorough and identify all partners and consultants on your project. Be sure to list how they're going to support the project. Include those supporting documents and reference them in the table or the narrative. If the agreements have yet to be completed, you'll want to identify what still needs to be done for it to be completed. And then provide a little description on how these partnerships will be managed or maintained. This could be they report to the project director or the AOR or some structure of reporting and communications. You'll want that outlined in the section. Also, it's worth mentioning that if your project isn't utilizing a consultant or a partnership, be sure to state that. That way, the reviewers and the readers know that you're not omitting anything and then your project doesn't plan on having these in place.
  • Here's an example of what the partnerships and consultants section could look like. In this narrative, you'll see they're identifying the UAF Cooperative Extension as supporting this possible project. They go into detail about what they'll be doing exactly to support the project, which attachments are supporting that partnership, and also the communications structure. Again, you do have the ability to use the table or the narrative format for this section.
  • Okay, for this activity, we're going to utilize the table that we discussed earlier in this video. In this activity, you'll want to identify any key staff positions for the partners or the consultants that you plan on working with with your project, list their qualifications, identify how they're going to be supporting your project, and then identify which supporting document is attached to your application outlining this partnership.
